Mid way through an evaluation near Gillingham. So far we have a few ditches and two pits, although these are not providing much dating evidence! Lots of lovely worked flint across the site though, looking to be mostly Neolithic. Frustratingly, there has been a lot of modern intrusion in one particular area of the site, which has likely destroyed any archaeology which may have been there.
We are really enjoying the sun this week though, even if it means the ground has baked hard! The heat today made us think we were hallucinating a seal swimming out of the dirt 😅
