We have revealed the full concrete structure found during an evaluation at The Wheatsheaf in Sittingbourne. The structure is a WW2 static water tank, used by the fire service during the war if there was damage to the main water lines or there was nowhere close by to retrieve water from. There are later steel girdle truncations to the structure, but the structure itself is fully intact, complete with a sump for easier retrieval of the water.

We will soon be publishing our report on the investigations, which will provide much more detail and photographs, so watch this space!
